Gemma cuts out pictures for her scrapbook - pictures of mothers, like the one she will never ever see again. Mike is a new boy at school; a boy who is desperate not to be noticed - who has a secret so terrible it will haunt him for ever. But Gemma's sure she's seen mikes face before. And now she's out to get him.
I just finished reading 'Tell me no lies' by Malorie Blackman. I have read a book by her before (Dangerous Reality) and I would really recommend reading that.
The Review:
Firstly this book was quite different to most books i've read before. So i didn't really know what to expect. The last Malorie Blackman book I read was amazing! So I thought this book would be just as good. However it was a bit predictable. It was almost as good as the last one. Almost.
The Characters: Were very interesting but weird at the same time. Especially Gemma, as she cuts out pictures of mums because she doesn't have one. I felt sorry for Gemma because she gets treated like she's invisible, so you feel sympathy towards her. The characters overall were interesting but you coldn't really feel the emotions they were feeling. Most of them had secrets which made me want to read on and find out but like I said before it was slightly predictable. It could have done with a few more characters in the book to add to it and make it a bit longer.
The storyline was average. I expected a bit more to the storyline. It had lots of really good twists and unexpected things a few you could predict but it was still brilliant. Overall I would recommend this book to people who would want a different and unusual book.
